The City closed escrow on the Rodda/Agua Dulce Partners property on October 27, 2010. This purchase of 243 acres further enhances the protected eastern greenbelt and expands the region's open space lands. Continuous to the existing City-owned Wagoner property, this property completes another portion of a future "bridge" making connections between the Angeles National Forest north and south of the City. The land is part of the Santa Clara River watershed and the Castaic and San Gabriel Mountain ranges, and this "missing linkage" is recognized as part of the Conservation Area Protection Plan. The City purchased this parcel with Open Space Preservation District funds and also with grant money from the State of California Rivers and Mountains Conservancy.
Rodda is located .9 miles south of the 14 freeway. Exit Agua Dulce Canyon Road, turn right, and continue until you see the property entrance. Parking is available on the right (east) shoulder side of the road. Boulders and signage mark the entrance.
